Cathy decided to start her career in Mental Health when her family had grown up and left home. She enrolled as a student mental nurse in 1991 and having completed her training worked within the mental health services in day hospital care and finally as a Community Psychiatric Nurse. She started her counselling training in 1993 and used those skills within her mental nursing and as a counsellor within Primary Care in GP’s surgeries. She has been working as a qualified counsellor for the last 12 years. Cathy then decided to develop her skills in supervision and after completing a certificate course became involved with CRUSE Bereavement care as a supervisor and trainer.
